Macroscopic FeaturesSeed is oval shaped, 2~4cm long; externally grayish-yellow or pale yellowish-brown, with longitudinal wrinkles, one end is blunt and round with one oval scar, pale colored, one projection on each side of this end; the other end is slightly pointy, outer shell is hard and brittle. After being cut, the inside is reddish-brown with pitted lines. Kernel is oval wrinkled and firm; externally has grayish-brown wrinkled membrane, endosperm is white or yellowish-white and oily. faintly aromatic odor; slightly sweet taste.
Quality RequirementsSuperior medicinal material is large, with thin shell, yellowish-white kernel, no diffusion of oil or crushed.
