Rose

Primarily produced in the Chinese provinces of Gansu, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Henan.

Slightly sub-spherical or irregular lumps, 1~2.5cm diameter. receptacle is semi-spherical, grows together with calyx base; 5 sepals, lanceolate, yellowish-green or brownish-green, covered thin soft hairs; petals often wrinkled, after flattened, wide oval shape, overlaps each other, purplish-red, some is yellowish-brown; numerous stamens, yellowish-brown. Light texture, brittle. Potently aromatic odor, slightly bitter and astringent taste.

Superior medicinal material is intact, large, thick petal, hidden stamens, potent aroma, fresh purple color.

Sweet, slightly bitter, warm

Moves qi, resolves constraint, harmonizes blood, stops pain. Apply to stagnation of liver-qi and stomach-qi, poor appetite, vomiting and nausea, irregular menstrual periods, swelling pains from falls.
