Macroscopic FeaturesLiriope spicata (Thunb.) Lour. var. prolifera: fusiform, slightly pointed two ends, 1.2~3cm long, 0.4~0.7cm diameter. Externally pale yellow to brownish-yellow, with irregular longitudinal wrinkles. Soft and pliable texture, easily broken after dried, fractured surface is pale yellow to brownish-yellow, horn-like, stele (woody core) is thin and small. faint odor, sweet taste, sticky when chewed. Liriope muscari (Decne.) Baily.: slightly flat, 2~5cm long, 0.3~0.8cm diameter, with rough longitudinal lines. Sweet taste, slightly bitter.
