Howthorn Leaf

Primarily produced in the Chinese provinces of Henan, Hebei, Shanxi, Shandong.

Imparipinnate leaf is often broken, leaf stem and rachis are relatively thick, pale yellowish-brown. Leaflet is often wrinkled and broken, intact leaf is wide lanceolate, uneven edge, slightly curved like a sickle. 4~11cm long, 2~4cm wide, upper surface is grayish-green, lower surface is yellowish-green; edge has deep saw-teeth, thin leathery texture. faintly clear aromatic odor, tasteless.

Superior medicinal material has numerous leaves, green color, clear aromatic odor.

Sour, neutral

Stops itching, closes sore, reduced blood pressure. Apply to dermatitis rhus, ulcer, and hypertension.
