Cowherb Seed

Primarily produced in the Chinese provinces of Jiangsu, Hebei, Henan, Shaanxi.

Spherical, about 2mm diameter. Externally black, occasionally reddish-brown, slightly lustrous, with intricate granular raised spots, with one pale round spotted hilum and one indented longitudinal shallow groove. Firm texture, fractured surface is grayish-white, horn-like. faint odor, slightly astringent, bitter taste.

Superior medicinal material is full, black.

Invigorates blood, frees channels, resolves swelling, relieves pain, catalases delivery, descends milk. Apply to irregular menstruation, lack of milk, dystocia, swelling boil toxin, important clinical medicinal material use to descending milk.
