Production Regions
Primarily produced in the Chinese provinces of Hunan, Zhejiang.
Macroscopic Features
Often fusiform shape, slightly curved, sometimes shrived and linked in the center, 6~15cm long, 1~3cm diameter. Externally yellowish-brown, with longitudinal wrinkles and loose thin root scars. Firm texture, slices are 0.2~2mm thick, cut surface is yellowish-white or pale yellowish-brown, rays are radially arranged, can see concentric rings, center color is relatively dark. Aromatic odor, slightly bitter, acrid, with cooling taste.

Superior medicinal material is pale brown, large, fat and strong, tender, with potent aromatic odor.
