Production RegionsPrimarily produced in the Chinese provinces of Sichuan, Fujian, Yunnan.
Macroscopic FeaturesFruit is spherical or long spherical flake, 4~10cm diameter, 0.2~0.5cm thick. Horizontally cut slice has yellow or yellowish-green exocarp, edge is wavy, scattered indented oil spots; mesocarp is 1~3cm thick, yellowish-white, with irregular reticular vascular bundles; pulp has 10~17 chambers. Longitudinally cut slice has relatively thick central column. Soft and pliable texture. Clear aromatic odor, slightly sweet and bitter acrid taste.
Quality RequirementsSuperior medicinal material is yellow, potent aromatic odor.

FunctionsCourses liver, rectifies qi, expands the middle, transforms phlegm. Apply to chest and abdominal fullness, chest swelling and pain, cough with excessive phlegm.
