Ginkgo Leaf

Primarily produced in the Chinese provinces of Sichuan, Jiangsu, Hubei, Guangxi.

Often wrinkled or broken, intact leaves are fan-shaped, 3~12cm long, 5~15cm wide. Yellowish-green or pale brownish-yellow, upper border of the leaves has irregular undulations and curves, sometimes indented in the center, when deep the indentation can run 4/5 of the length of leaf. Bifurcate shape, parallel intricate leaf veins, thin and dense. Smooth and without hairs, easily torn longitudinally. Leaf base is wedge-like, leaf stem is 2~8cm long. Light in weight. faint odor, slightly bitter taste.

Superior medicinal material is flat and intact, without foreign matter.

Sweet, bitter, astringent, neutral

Astringes lung, calms panting, invigorates blood, transforms stasis, stops pain. Apply to cough due to lung deficiency, coronary heart disease, angina, high blood fat, resisting coagulation, certain probability to improve memory.
