Dwarf Flowering Cherry Seed

Primarily produced in the areas of northeast of China, and Hebei, Shandong.

Prunus humilis Bge.: Drupe is sub-spherical, dark red, about 1cm diameter, externally smooth. Prunus japonica Thunb.: Drupe is sub-spherical when mature, red or purplish-red, 1.5~1.8cm diameter; externally has ridge on two sides of back surface, no ridges at other side. Prunus pedunculata Maxim.: Seed is oval, 6~10mm long, 5~7mm diameter. Externally yellowish-white to pale brown, one pointed end, another end is blunt round. Pointed end has linear hilum at one side; round end had dark chalaza at center, numerous longitudinal vascular bundle lines from chalaza upwards. Thin seed coat, cotyledon is milky-white, oily, slightly bitter taste.

Superior medicinal material has full kernels, intact, pale yellowish-white, and does not seep oil.

Acrid, bitter, sweet, neutral.

Moistens dryness, lubricates the intestines, downbears qi, promotes urination. Apply to consumption of fluid and dryness of intestines, dyspeptic disease and qi stagnancy, abdominal distention and constipation, edema, beriberi, difficulty in micturition.

Fried yu li ren: Clean yu liren fry with slow fire, until dark yellow and aromatic smells produced, take out and cool. Often apply to promote urination, eliminate edema. Yu li ren shuang: mash yu li ren clean flesh into rough powders, wrap in oil-absorbing paper, put in press bed to remove oil, change paper one paper per day, when changing paper, it need to mash yu li ren into powder, then press, repeat for several times, until remove total oil, scatter in powder when twisted, take out and mash in thin powder. Very weak effect of lubricate intestines, apply to moves qi, disperse binds, invigorate blood, break stasis. Zhu sha stired yu li ren: clean yu li ren, spray a little water to make external surface slightly wet, put in zhu sha powder evenly stri, take out and dry in wind. Every 1kg yuliren need 18g zhusha. Often apply to anxious and insomnia. Honey yu li ren: clean yu li ren, process by the way of honey-process. Every 100kg yuliren need 12kg honey. Promote the effect of moistening intestines; often apply to constipation due to dryness of intestines.
