Macroscopic FeaturesLeaf is elliptical or oval, 7~15cm long, 3.5~7cm wide. Externally yellowish-green or yellowish-brown, slightly lustrous. Apex gradually narrows, base is round to a wide wedge shape; edge has saw-teeth with short leaf stem. Brittle texture, breaks easily when twisted; fractured surface has a few silvery-white gluey threads connected. faint odor; slightly bitter taste.
Quality RequirementsSuperior medicinal material is intact, yellowish-green, without foreign matter.
PropertiesSlightly acrid; warm.
FunctionsSupplements the liver and kidney, strengthens sinew and bone. Apply to deficiency of liver and kidney, dizziness, lumbar and back pain, weakness of sinew and bone.
